June 14, East Meadow, NY — Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, a longstanding supporter of The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University for more than 30 years, has established of two new named scholarships at the Law School.
The Certilman Balin Endowed Scholarship and the Certilman Balin Annual Scholarship will be awarded to a law student who demonstrates financial need and academic achievement with preference given to a student residing in Nassau, Suffolk or Queens Counties and has an interest in working on Long Island after law school. The Scholarships will be given during the law student’s 2L and 3L year.
“We are greatly appreciative of Certilman Balin’s continued investment in Hofstra Law and our students,” said Hofstra Law Dean Gail Prudenti. “It is always gratifying to see alumni and non-alumni at the firm support the next generation of lawyers and difference-makers on Long Island and the surrounding area.”
Certilman Balin and its attorneys have a long history of supporting Hofstra Law students through scholarship, special education opportunities, mentorship and job placement. The firm has also hired interns from Hofstra Law, including students participating in the Long Island Legal Diversity Fellowship Program.
