Surujnarain Joins Real Estate Group as an Associate

June 17, Hauppauge, NY — Rebecca D. Surujnarain has joined the Real Estate Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP as an Associate, and she is located in the firm’s Hauppauge office.

Prior to joining Certilman Balin, Ms. Surujnarain was an Associate at Layliev Law, P.C., located in Bayside, New York. She drafted and negotiated real estate contracts, reviewed title and loan documents, attended closings and communicated with clients.

After she earned her undergraduate degree, Ms. Surujnarain was a Title Closer and Office Manager for Citi Abstract Inc. in Queens, New York for five years, where she was responsible for preparing for and overseeing real estate closings on behalf of the title company. Then she worked as a paralegal for a year before she decided to attend law school.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2021. She was a recipient of a Merit Scholarship, a Faculty Recognition Award for Academic Excellence in Trust and Estates, and a CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Real Estate Transactions and American Legal Studies Practicum. She also completed a legal internship. In 2012, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

She is admitted to practice in the state of New York.
