Shea and Stein honored Recognized for Real Estate Deals

June 16, East Meadow, NY — Howard M. Stein and J. Timothy Shea, Jr., partners at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP,  were both honored at Long Island Business News Annual Real Estate, Architecture and Engineering Awards held on June 16 at the Crest Hollow Country Club. 

Howard M. Stein took home the Top Office Lease Renewal in the category of “Top Office Lease Renewal” for 90 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow where Certilman Balin occupies space. Tim Shea was recognized in three categories: Top Entertainment Project for Top Golf in Holtsville; Top Multifamily Project — Suffolk for The Brio, units a The Boulevard in Yaphank; and Top Retail Lease for Walmart Supercenter at The Shoppes at The Boulevard in Yaphank.

Mr. Stein was also included, that same evening, on the Long Island Press PowerList. He is the head of the Real Estate Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  His diverse roster of clients count on his counsel in matters relating to real property acquisitions, downtown redevelopments, sales, leasing (including obtaining economic benefits incentives), real estate finance and loan workouts.  For closely held businesses and public companies, he structures complicated transactions for retail, industrial, office, hotel, wineries and residential developments. He is also actively involved in all legal facets of Assisted Living Communities and Senior Condominium Living.

Mr. Shea, a Partner in the Real Estate Group and Land Use and Zoning Groups, is based in our Hauppauge office. In his real estate law practice, Mr. Shea concentrates on land use and zoning matters and real property litigation He represents clients in various jurisdictions who are seeking a variety of land use approvals, including Change of Zone, Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board. These clients range from local development companies to Fortune 500 companies and include solar array development, big box stores, multi-family developments, medical offices, commercial centers and industrial projects.
