O’Brien Named to Top 50 Women in Business List

East Meadow, NY, October 4 — Erin O’Brien (resident of Huntington), Partner in the  Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, was named to the Top 50 Women in Business list for 2023 by Long Island Business News.  Long Island Business News will host the Top 50 Women Awards Dinner on October 19 at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

Launched in 2000, the Top 50 Women in Business awards recognizes Long Island’s top women professionals for their business acumen, mentoring and community involvement. The program’s honorees are selected by a judging committee and receive a unique crystal memento at the elegant dinner attended by the Island’s top business leaders, and represent the most influential women in business, government and the nonprofit fields.

About Erin O’Brien

Ms. O’Brien has successfully litigated before the Supreme and Appellate Courts throughout the State of New York, creating legal precedent with the arena of tax certiorari law.

Admitted to practice in the Eastern District, as well as the States of New York and Connecticut, Ms. O’Brien is a member of the New York State Assessors’ Association, the New York State Bar Association, and both the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations. In addition, she serves on their Tax Certiorari and Real Property Committees. She also serves on the Condemnation and Tax Certiorari Committee of the New York City Bar Association.

Ms. O’Brien is also a founding member of Women in Tax Assessment (WItA), serves on the associate board of the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and has been a guest speaker at various symposiums throughout New York State.

In 2023, Ms. O’Brien was named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list. Long Island Business News named her to the “Top 50 Women in Business” list, and in 2022 she was named to its “Who’s Who in Tax Certiorari Law” list. In 2019 she was featured by the New York Real Estate Journal as one of its “Women in Real Estate.”

Ms. O’Brien earned her Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law where she was a member of Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University.
