Hunter, McNamara & Ziegler Make LI Pulse Top 10 Legal Eagles List

March 01, East Meadow, NY – Certilman Balin is pleased to announce that Long Island Pulse Magazine has named three of our partners to their top 10 list of Legal Eagles, and they are: Lisa S. Hunter, Co-Chair of and Partner in our Trusts and Estates Group; Thomas McNamara, Partner in-Charge of our Litigation Group; and Brian K. Ziegler, Partner-in-Charge of our Corporate Group.

For more than 20 years, Lisa S. Hunter has been practicing in the area of estates and trusts planning. As the partner in and co-chair of the Trusts and Estates and Elder Law Practice Groups of her firm, she concentrates on tax and business succession planning for high net worth individuals. She’s also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County and the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations. When she’s not serving on the Tax Law and Surrogate’s Court, and Estates and Trusts Committees of the Nassau County Bar Association, she’s courted by the media. The former student and editor of Villanova University’s Law Review has been on Bloomberg’s “Moneywise” program and quoted in Newsday and Mutual Funds magazine.

Thomas McNamara heads the litigation practice focusing on banking, creditors’ rights, contracts, real estate, employment, trade secrets, trust and estates, and insurance, as well as corporate, shareholder and antitrust matters. He’s taught at New York University and most recently at Molloy College. He is the former chair of the Committee on Creditors’ Rights of the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section. Professional continuing education programs hosted him as a lecture on bank litigation. Mr. McNamara practices law in state and federal courtrooms, in New York City and on Long Island.

After graduating cum laude from Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, Brian K. Ziegler earned both a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degree in taxation at the University of Miami School of Law.Mr. Ziegler is the partner in charge of the firm’s corporate/securities law practice group, working in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint venture transactions, finance, private placements, license agreements, executive compensation and employment agreements. In his spare time, he lectures on limited liability companies, contributes to New York Forms: Legal and Business and chairs the Empire State Cup and the Commissioner’s Cup Golf Tournaments at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course. Closer to his heart is the work he does with his firm’s LIKE (Lawyers Involved in Kids’ Education) program, which he co-founded.
