Land Use & Zoning

The attorneys in our Land Use and Zoning Group represent landowners, developers and lessees, ranging from international and domestic companies to private individuals.

With decades of experience in the formation and advancement of all types of land use proposals, we represent clients applying for changes of zone, subdivisions, site plans, variances, special use permits, and transfers of development rights. We are also leaders in the drafting of “Smart Growth” and other comprehensive zoning legislation.

We provide zoning analysis, guide clients through the SEQRA process, and represent clients seeking development permits for state and locally-designated wetlands, scenic and recreational river areas and the Long Island Central Pine Barrens.

Our lawyers represent clients with Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and other project financing, and provide counsel on wastewater and sewer-related issues.

Another benefit is our proven record litigating CPLR Article 78 proceedings and other land use actions. Together, with our clients, we are shaping the future of Long Island.
