Michelle L. Stieglitz

Michelle L. Stieglitz is a Partner in the Real Estate Practice Group at Certilman Balin, where she excels in guiding clients through the complexities of real estate law. Her practice concentrates in the areas of real property acquisitions and sales, redevelopment, downtown revitalization, commercial leasing, and real estate finance. She represents clients at the local, regional, and national level, from closely held businesses to public companies. Ms. Stieglitz specializes in structuring intricate and complex transactions, often invoking innovative solutions, across retail, office, industrial, hotel, and residential developments. She adeptly represents residential condominium developers from real property acquisition to the sale of newly constructed homes.

Her portfolio boasts significant achievements, such as representing the developer of 260 units in Lindenhurst and over 400 units in Bay Shore. Ms. Stieglitz has also served as counsel to Master Developers in prominent regional redevelopment initiatives, including Ronkonkoma, Lindenhurst, Village of Hempstead, and the City of New Rochelle, among others.

Committed to community involvement, Ms. Stieglitz mentors “at-risk” students through the Lawyer’s Involved in Kid’s Education (LIKE) program and serves on the Parents’ Association Board at The Bridges Academy. She has also served on the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon Committee.

Prior to joining Certilman Balin, Ms. Stieglitz was a financial analyst at FCB (Foote, Cone & Belding), a leading global advertising agency. In her role, she collaborated with regional teams across the globe and analyzed financial data for clients generating agency revenue between twenty and eighty million dollars annually across FCB’s global network.

Ms. Stieglitz earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Business Administration (with a dual concentration in Management and Marketing) from Sacred Heart University.

Ms. Stieglitz has been recognized as one of the “Ones to Watch” by the New York Real Estate Journal in 2019 and 2022. Additionally, she has been named a Rising Star in Real Estate by Real Estate Weekly. She was also honored as a “Leader in Women Professionals” by Long Island Business News, as well as being recognized by LIBI for her outstanding contributions to “Women in the Homebuilding Industry”.

Ms. Stieglitz is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association.
