JiaJun Shan is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate/Securities Practice Group, where he advises clients on a range of corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters. His practice includes assisting with corporate structuring, governance, and compliance, as well as supporting transactions and day-to-day legal needs for businesses across various industries.
Mr. Shan brings a multidisciplinary background that combines legal, business, and technology experience. Prior to joining the firm, he co-founded SmarTech Consulting LLC, where he developed and implemented cloud-based infrastructure for U.S. Customs brokerage systems, focusing on efficiency, compliance, and real-time data integration. He also founded Winner Enterprise Inc., where he acted as a real estate developer and managed multiple property portfolios across Long Island, New York City, New Jersey, Rochester, and international markets.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Shan worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Apex Logistics International, where he designed and deployed cloud systems across multiple offices in the United States and China. His technical experience includes building scalable platforms and implementing operational systems that support complex business functions.
Drawing on his combined experience in corporate operations, technology development, and real estate investment, he provides clients with practical, business-oriented guidance, particularly in matters involving cross-border considerations, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2023 and his Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Business and Computer Science from Wake Forest University School of Business.
He is fluent in Chinese and Shanghainese and holds a Customs Broker License. He also is admitted to practice in the state of New York and the United States Tax Court.
