CB Jennifer Appel

Jennifer Appel is a Partner in our Real Estate and Land Use and Zoning Practice Groups. She has more than two decades of experience in numerous commercial and residential real estate transactions. 

Ms. Appel is well-versed in all areas of commercial real estate transactions, representing buyers and sellers in the acquisition of commercial buildings, multifamily properties  and development parcels.  She represents both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases and also represents borrowers in a myriad of financing transactions including conventional financing, SBA 504 Loans and IDA transactions. Ms. Appel has a background in land use and zoning, having appeared in front a variety of governmental and municipal bodies on complex development projects.

Ms. Appel began her career as an Associate at Mars, Sloane and Conlon which then merged with Certilman Balin. She was elevated to the partnership in 2007. Four years later, she became General Counsel and Program Advisor for the Long Island Housing Partnership, Inc. In that role, she expanded her knowledge of real estate law, concentrating on affordable housing related transactions which include low income housing tax credit developments, federal and state grant programs and employer assisted homeownership programs. In December 2016, she returned to practice in our East Meadow office. 

In 2025, she was recognized as a ‘Industry Leader’ by New York Real Estate Journal for her outstanding contributions and involvement in the field and in 2027, she was recognized by Best Lawyers of America.

Ms. Appel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the state of New York.
